I just heard the official announcement changing the schedule for the Republican National Convention that was to begin in St. Paul (MN) on Monday; because of the pending emergency situation in the Gulf Coast region due to Hurricane Gustav. Here we go again, three years later.

Farewell to the CHIEF

After almost seven years as Chief of the Petaluma Fire Department, Chris Albertson was honored at a farewell dinner, last night at the Lucchesi Park Community Center. This festive event included more stories and anecdotes about his career by friends and colleagues from as long ago as 40 years, than this blogger can report.

River of Change

This Sunday, the turning basin will be the site for the Petaluma Sesquicentennial Celebration River Fest. The much-loved "River Festival" will make a return debut from until . Our historic "Petaluma Creek" will be alive with boat races, antique cars, the Petaluma Trolley, and the return of the schooner Alma. What might be lost, however, will be a sense of the changes that have occurred along our historic river over time. Here are a few bits of information about our beloved "River of Change."
