One year later -
Another Great River Town
Although "Me, Myself & I" are still on sabbatical, Eagle-Eyes and Hammerhead thought that their readers in Petaluma might enjoy the following items found in the newspaper of another historic "river town" -. the Tri-Cities in the State of Washington.
"You cannot change the wind, but you can change your sails"
I am most fortunate to have both "Eagle-Eyes" and "Hammerhead" on my team of collaborators. Together, we have been able to incubate (you know, "hatch"). After 15 years of learning about the "Egg Capital of the World," yours truly has acquired quite a collection of "eggs." Having hatched some of these "eggs" and discovering others, life in
"Tuning out technology"
Oh, wow, "Eagle-Eyes" did it again! He spotted this headline, recently, and showed it to "the boss," who promptly placed it on the breakfast table so I couldn't miss it.
Our Kind of Guy
My faulty "memory chip" failed again. In this case, I forgot all about June 2, the day Bill Soberanes died in 2003. I guess I could blame it on "Eagle-Eyes" who didn't mark it on my electronic calendar.
Words, words, words for July 4th
Although our Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4th, the first public reading did not take place until July 8 in Philadelphia Independence Square. Twice that day, the Declaration was read to cheering crowds and pealing church bells. I wonder what these words - We hold these truths to be self-evident - and those that followed meant to the colonists in 1776, as compared to those of us born in the 1920s, 30s, & 40s, as well as the 1970s, 80s, & 90s. I asked "Me, Myself, and I" what words come to mind? Here are a few for your consideration on our nation's birthday -July 4th.

Bill Hammerman
Bill Hammerman's blog shares reflections on how the information and technology world of today impacts Petaluma. In addition, from time to time, the following themes are addressed: "Then & Now," "Web of Life," "Our Community," and "Remembering Bill Soberanes." When he can't concentate on just one topic, look for a "GLOB." Following a 40-year career as an educator, Bill is now a community volunteer who founded Petaluma Electronic Network (PEN) in 1996, the Petaluma CyberCity Roundtable (PCCR) in 1998, the Petalumans of Yesteryear in 1998, and the Petaluma Alliance for Local Emergency Response Teams (ALERT) in 2006.
