That's a good question to ask during the anniversary week of the great S.F. Earthquake of 1906. (April 18th at 5:12 a.m., magnitude 7.7)
This is not an April Fools' Day joke! The probability of at least one earthquake, magnitude 6.7 or greater, in the San Francisco Bay Region is 62% between now and 2032.
