Do you remember this lead sentence from Emergency Preparedness blog #32, posted 1-28-08? At first, "I" wasn't going to post any more reminders about "Being Prepared" for an emergency or natural disaster incident; but Eagle-Eyes woke "Me" up and flashed the following Press Democrat headlines which "Myself" also thought "we" shouldn't ignore. "Experts say local fault primed for big quake."

Once in a lifetime -

- do we have the opportunity to celebrate the 100th or the 200th anniversary of an historic event. In 1958, Petalumans celebrated our City's Centennial and in 1976, the 200th Anniversary of our nation's founding. It is now 2008, and once again, Petalumans can focus on our favorite "river town" with our Sesquicentennial Celebration. That's a fancy term for our 150th birthday as a chartered city in the State of California.

Petaluma's Charter Day

Since 2008 is Petaluma's Sesquicentennial celebration year and a series of events have been scheduled throughout the year, I wonder what Bill Soberanes (an Argus-Courier columnist for 49 years, 1954-2003) would have to say if he were still alive, today?
