It's the last day for the year. It's true. Time certainly flies when you're having a good time. "Me, Myself & I" sat down for a meeting today and looked back on one of our "fun" activities for 2007 - blogging.

It's difficult to realize that next year - 2008 - will be our 15^th as residents of Petaluma. Where has the time gone? The old saying, "times flies when you're having a good time," certainly applies to our current lifestyle. Among the many Christmas cards and family newsletters that we received during the holidays were comments related to recent illnesses or injuries that required moving into smaller living quarters or convalescent homes. These news items were from long-time friends living in other parts of the country. The silent questions that flashed through my mind were - Is this what 'I' have to look forward to sometime in the next decade? Will this happen to 'Me?' Will I be able to take care on 'Myself?' (Regular readers of this blog know that it is written by the three of us - "Me, Myself, and I")

They say that a town's local newspaper captures the essence of a community with the "news" it reports. Well, when I checked the homepage for the online version - Petaluma360 - I found the five following stories under the heading, "Petaluma headlines."

Here's a story that the printed edition of the Argus-Courier can't report (if at all) until after Christmas Day, because their next edition won't appear until the day after Christmas. Various citizens have reported seeing a chubby, red-suited, old fellow driving around town during this past week ringing bells and yelling, "Ho, Ho, Ho!".

EDITOR: In response to the issue that a concerned citizen raised on Dec. 8 in her "Letter to the Editor" titled, Warning needed, may I offer a suggestion.
