Thursday's headline, "Bald eagle coming off endangered list today," had "Eagle-Eyes" flapping his wings for joy. At long last, one of the nation's major symbols has made an astounding recovery from possible extinction as a species. Ever since strict protection was sanctioned by the Endangered Species Act of 1973, a significant change in the American environmental ethic has occurred. Actually, "Eagle-Eyes" knows that this comeback was partially due to a better understanding of our ecological "web of life." However, he wants to hit "Hammerhead" with a news story that should have been on all the front pages of our nation's newspapers.

Long-time readers might recall that "Web of Life #2" was titled, "Earth Day, 2006." My closing paragraph for that particular blog, is reprinted below -

In addition, from time to time, the following themes are addressed: "Then & Now," "Web of Life," "Our Community," and "Remembering Bill Soberanes."
