A New Toy for the Trio

Posted June 8, 2009 5:22:19 PM

This new toy is called a yo-yo. Me, Myself, & I have discovered not only a new meaning for the "up & down" motion of a yo-yo, but we have also created a new acronym. Some new readers might wonder what this is all about, so they will have to read a few of the 43 Emergency Preparedness blogs that have been posted, following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. (Look under "Categories," to your right.)

The S.F. Earthquake of 1906! What if it happens again?

Posted April 17, 2009 7:05:25 AM

A few years ago, at this time, the mass media was alive with all sorts of photos, facts, data, and information pertaining to the centennial celebration of the great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. Now, three years later, I have yet to see anything related to this year's anniversary on April 18th. You ask, So what? What if it happens again? (And, it will!)

One week from today, Saturday, April 18, 2009, will be the 103rd Anniversary of the great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake (Mag. 7.8). Posted February 14, 2009 7:33:20 PM

We started to blog about Emergency Preparedness on 3-21-06. After posting 52 blogs devoted to disaster readiness and preparedness, the "Trio" do not believe a majority of the citizens (not just Petalumans) are adequately informed or ready to cope with a mega-disaster, such as a 7.8 magnitude earthquake along the Rodgers Creek Fault in Sonoma County.

Are you prepared to be - without?

Posted September 15, 2008 8:08:36 AM

Hurricane Katrina spoke to us in 2005! Ike has sent the same message over the past few days from Texas. Once, again, thousands of families are without adequate food, water, or electric power. Many ways of communicating and calling for help were inoperable. Once, again, the basic question is - Are you ready to be on your own for 72 hours or longer?
